The world appears more interesting when you live more than half way to the pole. Different voices too.

The rumors of my exile have been grossly overstated.

I have been wallowing in the land of the “business side of writing” which seems like a good place to recover from physical illness. Why wait, get sick first!

I have been spending some time reading about secret societies and the new world order and other assorted garbage. It takes superior inverse crap detectors to sieve out the worthwhile from the pernicious when it is mixed in with so much obviously fallacious mishmash. Couple that with my lack of background depth in some of the ancient myth and you have a potentially useless exercise.

One advantage is that it is a suitable replacement for the TV and radio I have not been watching. Perhaps a preview of what the war nuts dream about when they doze off in a briefing. I am sure they are bored too.

The birds have been a real treat the past few days. The back yard is full of avian exuberance.

An excerpt from recent work evolving from the struggle and pleasure of spring on the American steppe.

“The Scythians enjoy it so much
... they howl with pleasure”

There is an intensity in the air today.
Perhaps it is the presupposition
the not-quite-ready inevitability
ever present in dry wind.
Descending, spreading from the Scythian plain
