The world appears more interesting when you live more than half way to the pole. Different voices too.

Doggeral for Thanksgiving Day

Hunting Religion

Call them saviors of Thanksgiving
As you eat turkey, be thinking
"At least they had a fresh air ride
before they lost their heads and died."

South Dakota shoots its state bird
Which is just as ghastly absurd.
If that was the national way.
We'd eat eagle each holiday.

Then again maybe it is yesterday - 41 years ago. Look where the world has gone since then!

More than info: maybe not quite alarm but certainly a call to action. When it comes to politics and the risk of barbary one can never be too careful.

Some articles that bear scrutiny:

America 2004 is Germany 1930

And a report of, yes it is happening here and throughout the world:

Not for alarm but for information: Informed citizens need to know what a simple thing like a selfish vote can lead to.

Veteran's Day Rant

American Empire

Eleven, eleven, one nine one eight
An Armistice day to suspend the hate
It put idiocy on hold
but revenge waited to unfold,
and it really didn’t work too well—
Six more year of Hitler hell
Korea, Viet Nam, Cold War. That's good?
Hail to veterans that understood
we had created a grotesque religion
Now a holiday to complete the perversion.

Today, today in two thousand four
We celebrate with an Iraqi war
100 thousand women and children died
Avenging our honor and 911 pride.
Level Falluja. Bring on Fascism.
Bring on more idiocy. No criticism.
We must execute our Christian nation
ritual expiation. It’s a do-unto-others situation.
Our country knows, the promise is due.
Or, "we’ll ... kick the shit out of you!”
Make you sorry
and take our glory
from you humans who did not learn:
When our Ceasar fiddles, the world will burn.

Choice for Tomorrow

Half of a half of a half
Significant? Don’t laugh.
People who cannot conceive
The things they believe
Do more than annoy
May even destroy
Freedoms we enjoy
But do not deploy
Patriots. Don’t be naive
Or your vote take leave.
Don’t let one gaffe
Write your epitaph.

Make a choice for freedom tommorrow. Bush has got to go.
