A fellow poet of mine, Allison Hedge Coke, is going on to be a SDPR show, Food for Thought at noon today. She has several books published and is an excellent poet. I have seen her poems on Poets Against the War, so I went there to find one that I really like: The Tanks Come Blasting.

In the process I found there is a "Poems of the Day" section and was pleased to find that the one I posted here and there on Feb 6 was selected for as a feature on Feb 8. I don't know if this of particular merit but as they say on the page,

As of February 2004, our team of volunteer editors has reviewed and posted more than 15,000 poems. We can't showcase every poem, but on this page you'll find a daily posting of poems or statements that have been suggested to us by poets and editors around the world.

In any case it is nice to have the recognition and I like the poem of the day concept because it is very hard to keep up with new additions unless some screening is done.
