Egad, I'm Mad

In the beginning was madness.

Primordial conscious genius
emerged from unconscious bliss.

Before then, there was no need.

Nature operated like a cosmic clock,
tick - tock . . .

Each part interacting:
breeding, borning, growing, dying,
cycling like seasons,
ad infinitum.

One human aware.

So it is with madness.

Isolation killed off the first ones.

Then a pair went mad.

They had something only they could share;
so, the egg of god was lain.

The product of two, who knew, that they
were no longer like the rest;
they pretended the mountain spoke
with power and awe;
that she proclaimed what they knew
with thunder and fire.

It made madness divine.

Before long there was consensus.

God made it happen.
